The villain, Jafar, made his appearance in Disney's Aladdin. He is still to this day, the only Disney villain to share a kiss with the leading lady. I know what you're thinking, "Hello, Frozen!" but you're forgetting, they didn't actually kiss. We'll get back to that later. If you would like a short summary of the movie, check out my post titled "Not a Prize to be Won."
Pros:
- Strategy: He has good strategy at getting what he wants and does pretty good at not getting caught in his actions. He's secretive and mulipuative, now if only he would use it for good.
- Determined: He goes to great lengths to become the Sultan. He risks everyone else's life except his own.
- His beard is so twisted: need I say more? ;)
Cons:
- Disturbing: Seriously? He wants to marry Jasmine? He's at least twice her age! #ew
- Stupid: Yeah, just listen to Aladdin, your mortal enemy, when he tells you to wish to be a genie. That won't have any consequences what's so ever.
- Manipulative: He manipulates the Sultan with his powers ALL THE TIME! If he wasn't a sorcerer he would be pretty useless though.

My What A Guy That Gaston
The famous swoon worthy villain, Gaston, made his appearance in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. If you would like a short summary of the movie, check out my post titled "A Beauty but a Funny Girl."
Pros:
- Confident: One thing that Gaston surely has is confidence. He knows himself and loves himself enough to be fearless. Though his confidence is on the verge of narcissistic.
- Handsome: Although, I don't find Gaston as handsome as he may claim to be, he is one of the better looking Disney villains.
- Leader: Gaston knows how to be a leader! He knows how to get people on his side and trust him in his endeavors whether good or not.
Cons:
- Obsessive: He is OBSSESED with Belle. He never leaves her alone and is constantly knowing where she is, what she's doing and never takes no for an answer when it comes to her.
- Selfish: He never thinks about Belle's wants or needs in any situation. He tries to marry her when she clearly doesn't want to and when he doesn't get his way, he tries to kill the man she loves and wants to lock up her and her father.
- Narcissistic: There is no doubting that Gaston has confidence, but it is almost too much. It's great that he thinks highly of himself, but he could tone it down a bit and think about others. #loveyourself #nothatmuch

Poor Unfortunate Souls
The famous sea witch and eight tentacled creature, also known as Ursula, made her appearance in Disney's The Little Mermaid. If you would like a short summary of the movie, check out my post titled "Thingamabobs and Dinglehoppers." Ursula has a sister Morgana, whom we meet in The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea.
Pros:
- Fair, regardless of her being evil: Believe it or not, Ursula is one of the villains who is most fair. Technically, her contract was legal and Ariel did sign it. Ariel did go to her for help, which she did do. She could have just as easily said no. Also, I feel like taking your voice is a small price to pay for a body transformation. You don't just get handed things in life.
- Sassy: Ursula is the queen of sass. She is dramatic, demanding and confident.
-Takes matters into her own tentacles: Although she tries to sabotage Ariel for her own endeavors, she knows how to get what she wants when she wants it.
Cons:
- Manipulative: She did hypnotize the prince as well as disguise herself for her own gain. She also worked really hard to convince Ariel it was a good idea to become human. Seriously, a musical number and everything. She knows how to play her cards right, now she just needs to learn how to do it for the right reasons. I will admit, she is good at it. #poorunfortunatesouls
- Greedy: Need I say more. I feel like we were all a bit terrified when Ursula finally got the trident and crown she craved for so long.
Ursula's character is an interesting one. In the original story by Hans Christian Andersen, the sea witch is seen in a very different light and Ariel must endure much more than losing her voice and getting her happily ever after. If you would like to view my comparison between this Disney classic and its original tale, check out "The Little Mermaid: Her Part in our World!"

The Mistress of All Evil
The famous Maleficent, made her appearance in Disney's Sleeping Beauty. She also makes appearances in her own featured Film Maleficent. If you would like a short summary of the movie, check out my post titled "A Delicate Rose."
Pros:
- Patient: She waits patiently for sixteen years for Aurora to come out of hiding. She would have waited sixteen years from her birth anyways, but still, that's a long time to wait for revenge.
- Dramatic: Maleficent sure knows how to make an entrance, a curse, make herself a dragon and basically everyone fear her at any point of the day. #girlpower
- Determined: She won't let anything stop her from getting her way. Turning into a fire breathing dragon is the lengths she'll go to get what she wants.
Cons:
- Harsh: Was this really a necessary punishment for not being invited to a party? Maybe if she's chill out and not curse everyone for random reasons, she would be invited more often. #chillout
- Evil: She is arguably one of the most evil Disney villains of all time. She curses a child, and tortures basically everyone if they get in her way. #nomercy
In Disney's live action film Maleficent, she was given more of a backstory than in Disney's original. I think this helped develop her character and personality and almost gave a reason to feel sympathy towards her. Heartbreak can make people do unspeakable things. I honestly believe that villains are the most interesting characters in any story. It shows what a person can do under the influence of hatred and pain. Everyone has a bit of evil inside of them and its interesting to watch evil unfold.
