Prince Ali (aka. Aladdin), made his appearance in Disney's Aladdin. If you would like to read a short summary of the movie, check out my post titled "Not a Prize to Be Won."
Pros:
- A Diamond in the Rough: He knows right from wrong and follows it. He has a big heart and despite his personal struggles is always willing to lend a helping hand. He also makes the most out of what he has and never complains.
- Keeps his promises... eventually: He eventually keeps his promise to the Genie and sets him free, it just takes him a little time to figure it out.
- Scrappy: He knows how to get away from the guards and live on his own.
- Selfless: Even though he is poor, he gives away his food to some poor children and is polite to everyone he meets. He would do anything to help anyone.
- Loves for love, not for social standing and money: He falls in love with Jasmine before he knows she's a princess and loves her for her, not for her money and power.
Cons:
- Thief: He does steal, but to be fair, he does have to eat to live and has to steal to eat. #OtherwiseWe'dGetAlong
- Lies: He deliberately lied to Jasmine and despite his good intentions, he should have told her. She liked him before he claimed to be a "prince" anyways. #TeamLove
- Selfish: For the most part, Aladdin was fairly selfless, but during a time in the movie he became caught up in being a prince that he forgot what was really important and put his friends behind him instead of their needs first. To be fair, he did learn his lesson.
